Top China finance officials receive training from Lancaster University Management School

A delegation organised by the All China Youth Federation, including some of China’s top bankers and finance officials, visited Lancaster University Management School recently.
The party of 25 senior officials visited Lancaster University Management School for a ten-day management development programme.
The group received training in aspects of financial management in the UK, including risk management, the effects of the credit crunch and small business financing in the UK. They also learnt about the development and financing of youth services in the UK – an area of special interest for them.
Professor David Brown, from the , said: “The delegation included senior officials from the Bank of China, other leading banks and financial institutions.
“It is a real coup for the Lancaster China Management Centre to be able to welcome people of such stature and pass on our expertise.
“The visit is another step in Lancaster University’s long history of links with China and programmes like this help aid our understanding of this increasingly important country for UK businesses.”
As well as hearing from Lancaster University Management School experts, the delegation also met with representatives from Lancashire County Council and were given presentations about financial management at the Council, including an overview of the Council’s young people service.
